Tony Ridley

Chief Security and Risk Advisor, EMA Global

Tony Ridley is an independent Consultant and Chief Security and Risk Advisor, engaged directly by boards, audit and risk committees and executive teams on enterprise risk, security and resilience in asset-intensive, capital-heavy and heavily regulated environments.

He has served as de facto Chief Risk Officer of a state-owned critical infrastructure entity that holds rail corridor land, freight terminals, and a statewide telecommunications network, acting as the senior risk interface between the board, state agencies, and the Commonwealth critical infrastructure regulator. There, he oversaw the delivery of a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP) under the SOCI Act, guided the development of a Telecommunications Security Risk Management Program (TSRMP), and rebuilt the enterprise risk framework on a converged state and Commonwealth baseline. He has previously held a Commonwealth Executive Level 2 operational risk appointment, served as an independent member of a local government audit and risk committee, and given expert evidence in international investment arbitration and in a Supreme Court matter.

Tony holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Security and Risk Management, is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), a Fellow of The Security Institute (FSyI) and a Senior Risk Management Certified Professional (SRMCP). He is completing a PhD in transnational security, risk, safety and resilience management.
