As the Sustainability Project Technical Lead at Stantec, Shanica offers a unique combination of architecture and sustainable design expertise, along with a proven track record in community-focused projects. She is passionate about initiatives that benefit the broader community, promote inclusive design, and advance sustainability practices. To achieve these goals, Shanica actively engages with communities to understand their needs and develop sustainable solutions that align with natural and built environments. As the state chapter chair of the Australian Passivhaus Association (APA), she advocates for Passivhaus principles. Additionally, she volunteers with several organizations, including the Living Future Institute of Australia (LFIA), the Green Building Council Australia (GBCA), the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), and the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). Shanica's previous experience as the National Sustainability Lead at NBRS and the Group Sustainability Lead at dwp has sharpened her skills in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects. With her qualifications in architecture and sustainability, her approach emphasizes environmental impact, resilience, and positive community outcomes.
