Sarah McLaughlin is the Founding Director of Ada Consulting Engineers, a Sydney-based building services consultancy. A Chartered Engineer (CEng, CIBSE) and AIRAH member, Sarah holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham and has 14 years of consultancy experience in Australia across the commercial, fitout, education, residential and aged care sectors.

Her project experience includes the new Fire Fighting Station at Western Sydney Airport, the redevelopment of Castle Towers Shopping Centre and the Australian Pavilion at World Expo 2025 in Osaka. Sarah’s focus is on bringing coordination and communication into projects early, with a practical and commercially minded approach to engineering.

She is particularly interested in how design decisions around electrification, energy efficiency and building systems translate into real-world building performance once a project is occupied and operating.
