Sam Smith is an architect, permaculture specialist, and systems thinker with over 30 years of experience spanning mixed-use design, master planning, sustainability strategy, and climate-responsive program delivery.

As Manager of Sustainability Advisory Services at Development Victoria, Sam leads work on nature-positive, climate-resilient outcomes across state-significant projects.

A passionate advocate for biophilic design and regeneration, Sam is a Living Future Affiliate and contributes to the Biophilic Design Initiative Advisory Panel and the Green Building Council’s Nature and Biodiversity Expert Reference Panel.

She believes every project should give back more than it takes—restoring ecosystems, strengthening communities, and fulfilling the human need to connect with nature.
