Rob is a respected safety and quality professional with around 25 years of experience across major Australian fire protection organisations. As Safety and Quality Manager with Fire Equipment Services (FES), Rob is a strong advocate for compliance, safety, and continuous improvement, with a particular focus on the emerging fire risks associated with lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries and the development of effective suppression standards. A passionate supporter of electrification and an enthusiastic e-bike rider, Rob is committed to improving public understanding of lithium-ion battery fire hazards. His work emphasises prevention through safer user behaviours, risk awareness, and effective evacuation and escape strategies, recognising the unique challenges these fires can present. 

Rob's diverse career spans the manufacture of firefighting foams, aviation fire suppression, and the service and testing of portable fire extinguishers. A former CFA volunteer and Bushfire Blitz trainer, he also oversees compliance for Essential Safety Measures (ESM) service delivery across a fleet of Fire Service Technicians.

Rob actively contributes to industry advancement through his involvement with stakeholders such as the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPAA) and the Facility Management Association Australia (FMAA). He is also a contributor to Fire Rescue Victoria's Alternative Renewable Energy Technology (ARET) working group and leads FES's ISO-certified Safety and Quality Management Systems. An active participant in Australian Standards development, Rob contributes to ISO and Australian Standards committees responsible for the forthcoming revisions to AS/NZS 1850, AS/NZS 1841, and AS/NZS 2444, including the introduction of fire classifications and guidance relating to lithium-ion battery and ethanol fires.
