Richard Playne leads work across plumbing, product certification and the National Construction Code at the Australian Building Codes Board. He works closely with governments, regulators, standards committees and industry to support practical, nationally consistent plumbing requirements. A qualified plumber and experienced technical leader, Richard’s career spans onsite plumbing, construction management, regulatory compliance, performance solutions, hydraulic systems and product certification. Before joining the ABCB, he held specialist roles with the Victorian Building Authority and a leading global heating manufacturer.
