Nigel is a structural engineer by training and is currently the High Performance Building Lead at AECOM Building & Places in Melbourne.  Having worked extensively overseas in a variety of different industries and sectors he has a passion for innovative and sustainable design processes.  He is recognised as an industry champion for mass timber construction in Australia, having led several ground-breaking projects such as Bunjil Place, Ballarat GovHub and T3 Collingwood.  He is also a keen advocate for the increasing adaptive reuse of existing buildings as the best pathway to reduce carbon in construction, promoting the use of international best practice to support the pragmatic and safe reuse of existing building fabric.
