Millie Wan provides fire safety expertise primarily to the licensing (Permissions) function of EPA Victoria. Prior to joining EPA Victoria, she had 19 years of experience as a fire safety engineer in the building industry in Victoria under taking roles such as project engineer, project leader, senior technical leader and independent peer review. She is a chartered professional engineer in fire safety engineering and is registered on the National Engineering Register.

She also volunteers as a Standards Australia appointee to an ISO subcommittee, Fire threat to people and environment (ISO/TC 92/SC3).
