Melinda Davis
Statement: I am proud to be a Melbourne Build Ambassador, championing Women in Construction, Mental Health, and Diversity and Inclusion.
As General Manager of Empowered Women in Trades, I am passionate about creating an industry where women and people from diverse backgrounds can access meaningful opportunities, feel a genuine sense of belonging and build long-term, fulfilling careers. This means challenging outdated perceptions, removing systemic barriers and helping workplaces develop cultures where everyone feels safe, respected and empowered to thrive.
Mental health and wellbeing are also deeply important to me, both professionally and personally. A strong construction industry must protect psychological wellbeing with the same commitment it gives to physical safety. Through honest conversations, inclusive leadership and supportive workplace practices, we can reduce stigma and create environments where people feel safe to speak up and seek help.
I believe lasting change is achieved through collaboration. As an Ambassador, I look forward to connecting with others who share this commitment, amplifying diverse voices and helping build a healthier, safer and more inclusive construction industry for everyone.
