Matt Austin has over 20 years of experience with a focus on digital transformation and innovation leadership. Since 2018, as National Design Technology Lead at COX Architecture, he led the strategy and the execution of the Digital Transformation initiative across all COX studios. His work has involved leading a dedicated dev team and establishing an in-house AI division, with focus on building proprietary AI tools, workflow automation, and creating a firm-wide data framework that enables real-time analytics for projects and studio operations.

Prior to joining COX, Matt has built a reputation in establishing R&D divisions that prioritise efficiency. His career achievements include forming strategic partnerships with leading technology companies, implementing comprehensive design technology strategy programs, and integrating emerging technologies into architectural project workflows.

Matt was a guest speaker at University of Canberra, presenting on The Digital Turn (The impact of AI), and has taught a Master's design studio focused on systems thinking at the University of Melbourne.
