First Nations Engagement Advisor, Inland Rail

Lisa Goodman is an accomplished and results-driven professional with over 18 years of experience in community engagement, First Nations partnerships, and sport and recreation development. Currently serving as a First Nations Engagement Advisor with Inland Rail, Lisa plays a pivotal role in fostering meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland. Her expertise in cultural competency, community consultation, and capacity building supports Inland Rail’s commitment to genuine engagement and long-term partnerships with First Nations peoples.

Prior to her current role, Lisa spent over eight years at Toowoomba Regional Council, where she held several leadership positions, including Advisor for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Team Leader of Community Development. Throughout her time in local government, Lisa developed and implemented programs that strengthened community connections, enhanced cultural awareness, and supported social and economic development for First Nations communities.

Lisa’s passion for community development was evident from the early stages of her career, with roles spanning across Downs Rugby Limited, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, and various sport and recreation programs. With a strong foundation in governance, project planning, and volunteer development, Lisa has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver impactful programs that foster participation, improve governance, and build community capacity.
