Jo has over 10 years of industry experience in building / compliance auditing, drafting, design, project engineering & management from multiple industries. He has spent most of time working in Essential Safety Measures (ESM) compliance related work in terms of ESM maintenance auditing and Systems Interface tests (SIT) of fire systems and mechanical systems. He also managed multiple project/ contracts works, throughout his career for various clients of commercial, industrial and government.

Jo specialsied in Systems Interface tests and had conducted testing as the facilitator / coordinator in many major shopping centres like Melbourne Central, Highpoint, Greensborough Plaza, all the Westfield shopping centres in Victoria and Canberra and Chadstone; or iconic commercial buildings like Melbourne Central Tower, Shell House (1 Spring St.) and 530 Collins Street etc. He coordinated the testings from the phases of planning, scheduling, facilitating on site and post-testing defect management meetings / project work. He liaised with various contractors (e.g. fire, mechanical, security, access-control etc) to plan the tests and collaborated all findings / observations to report back to the clients. He consulted with subject experts like building surveyors and fire engineers during the post-testing defect management phase for any advises and rectification works.

He commenced his ESM compliance career as an auditor and later on became a senior auditor and SIT coordinator; throughout the same period of time he had taken on project / contractor management works of various clients. He managed the entire process from auditing towards the preparation of Annual Essential Safety Measures Report (AESMR), the regulatory requirement in Victoria. 

Other than the ESM work experience, he had also worked as a project engineer / manager in mechanical, chemical and water industries and experienced in design, drafting, project management, program maintenance and field work (e.g. project, routine, call-out & emergency works) during his career.
