James Cox is the current Municipal Building Surveyor for the City of Melbourne. With extensive experience across both public and private sectors, James Cox has worked in the private building surveying industry with a focus on Class 2–9 buildings, and held senior roles at the Victorian Building Authority, including as a Senior Technical Advisor and Registrar to the Building Appeals Board.

James is a current member of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee and is the Vice President of the Victorian Municipal Building Surveyors Group, contributing to policy and regulatory reform across the sector.
