Dr M. Reza Hosseini
Dr M. Reza Hosseini is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Technology within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning (Melbourne School of Design) at The University of Melbourne. Ranked among the top 2% of researchers globally, his expertise centres on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Generative AI, and computer vision in construction technology and major infrastructure delivery.
Dr Hosseini has published over 240 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and industry reports. His research leads advancements in AI-assisted quality management and assurance, automated visual site inspection, defect detection, and Building Information Modelling (BIM) integration for infrastructure projects. He serves as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) and is the founder and leader of the Australian BIM Academic Forum (ABAF).
At The University of Melbourne, Dr Hosseini coordinates postgraduate subjects including Artificial Intelligence in Construction, Concrete Construction Systems, and Advanced Construction Technology.
