Daniel Kumnick
As a design leader and associate director at Bates Smart’s Melbourne studio, Daniel plays a key role in crafting the identity of projects and ensuring their quality.
Daniel’s international experience is a testament to his interest in the broader scale contribution of architecture to society. He spent a decade in the United States, completing a Master of Architecture at Harvard and working for a highly distinguished architectural practice in San Francisco on projects as far afield as China and the Middle East.
After developing an expertise in large-scale projects around the world, Daniel returned to Australia to focus on more grounded, enriching work that emphasises the human dimension.
Always seeking to identify the essence of each project, Daniel translates this into design solutions that create meaningful experiences.
