Chair, Australian Security Medals Foundation

Damian McMeekin has been Chair of the Australian Security Medals Foundation since 2018.

 

He is a senior international risk, intelligence and issues management executive with experience across diplomacy, banking, and consulting who consults both independently, and as Senior Adviser to Kroll and as Strategic Advisor to Sibylline.

 

Previously he was Managing Director of the Asia Pacific focused corporate intelligence practice of the Crosby Textor global research and campaigns group, ANZ bank’s head of Group Security, and a senior officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade serving in both Australian and international positions.

 

He has been a judge of the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence since 2017 and was President of the International Security Management Association, President of the Asia Pacific Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, Secretary of the International Banking Security Association, Director of IDCARE, and financial sector representative on Australia’s Critical Infrastructure Advisory Council as Chair of the Banking & Finance Infrastructure Advisory Group.

 

Damian was raised in PNG, and educated there and in Australia. He is now based in Melbourne.
