Australian Hemp Council

The Australian Hemp Council (AHC) is the national peak body representing Australia’s industrial hemp sector. It brings together state and territory-based industry associations to advocate for a unified and thriving hemp industry. The AHC champions policies that support growers, processors, and manufacturers, and plays a central role in national coordination, industry standards, and strategic development.

Through collaborative leadership and evidence-based advocacy, the AHC works to unlock the full potential of hemp across agriculture, construction, textiles, bioplastics, health and nutrition. It also promotes innovation, sustainability, and economic development in regional Australia.

The Council is guided by a federated governance model that ensures grassroots representation while driving national outcomes. It engages actively with governments, research bodies, and commercial partners to position hemp as a key contributor to Australia’s circular and bio-based economy.
