PANEL: Neuroarchitecture: Designing Spaces the Brain Responds To
As our understanding of the relationship between the built environment and human wellbeing deepens, neuroarchitecture is emerging as a powerful approach to design that responds directly to how the brain perceives and experiences space. Drawing on insights from neuroscience, psychology and architecture, it seeks to create environments that positively influence cognitive function, emotional wellbeing and overall human experience. This panel brings together perspectives from design, research and technology to reflect on how neuroarchitectural principles are being applied in practice. It will also consider the challenges of translating scientific research into design strategies, alongside questions of measurement, scalability and integration, highlighting how brain-responsive design can shape healthier, more engaging and more human-centred spaces.
