PANEL: Designing Spaces That Care for the Planet and The People On It

25 Nov 2026
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN SUMMIT

As the built environment faces growing pressure to address both climate change and social wellbeing, the challenge lies in designing spaces that serve not only environmental goals but also the needs of the people who inhabit them. Balancing sustainability, resilience and human experience requires a more holistic approach—one that integrates low-carbon design, resource efficiency and biodiversity with health, inclusivity and community value. This panel brings together perspectives from architecture, urban planning, engineering and policy to reflect on how projects are responding to these dual priorities in practice. It will also consider the challenges of aligning environmental performance with social impact, highlighting how thoughtful design can create spaces that support both planetary health and human flourishing.
