Exploring the Scale and Scope of Melbourne’s Largest City-shaping Infrastructure Project
Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is planning and delivering Victoria’s largest ever transport infrastructure project and Australia’s largest housing project.
A 90-kilometre underground rail loop connecting Melbourne’s middle suburbs, SRL will link every major train service from Frankston to Werribee via Melbourne Airport – transforming our public transport network, better connecting Victorians to employment, hospitals, universities and each other.
The first stage of the project, SRL East – from Cheltenham to Box Hill – is scheduled to be completed by 2035, with 70,000 additional homes anticipated to be progressively delivered above and around its six new stations. Planning is well underway to ensure the neighbourhoods around these stations are vibrant and thriving communities for generations to come.
Join SRLA’s Chair James Merlino for a ‘deep dive’ on this city-shaping project, including updates on SRL East construction progress and precinct planning. This presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with other SRLA leaders.
