Greater adoption of prefabrication has been advocated in response to housing supply constraints. However, most media and recent research have primarily focused on financial and policy issues.  The issues underpinning the weak supply chain, the lack of support to the local prefab industry, the capability, capacity and readiness of the construction sector for more extensive use of pre-fabrication have received little attention.
