The redevelopment of the Boyd site, initiated in 2007 with the City of Melbourne's purchase, has seen the transformation of the area with the establishment of the Boyd Community Hub in 2012 and the opening of Boyd Park in 2019. The ongoing Boyd Village development, facilitated through a strategic partnership with PDG Corporation, is a pivotal step towards creating a cohesive mixed-use space that incorporates residential and affordable housing alongside community facilities.

PDG Corporation, in collaboration with Hamilton Marino, commenced construction on the Boyd Village project in November 2022, marking a significant milestone in the site's evolution. The development, slated for completion in 2025, envisions a vertical village concept with a contemporary approach to placemaking and community integration. Comprising 434 build-to-rent apartments, including 40 affordable rental dwellings for Investa's Indi platform, Boyd Village aims to foster a neighbourly atmosphere with vibrant green spaces that reflect the surrounding parks and gardens.

Boyd Village will offer a range of premium amenities to its residents, including private dining and entertaining rooms, a podcast/media room, a cocktail lounge with panoramic city views, a fully-equipped gym, heated outdoor swimming pool, sauna, landscaped outdoor spaces with BBQ facilities, a dog run and wash area, a games room, and a co-working space. Inspired by the adjacent heritage building housing the Boyd Community Hub, the architecture of Boyd Village harmoniously blends modern design elements with nods to historical Melbourne, creating a unique intersection within Southbank's urban fabric. This transformative project embodies a contemporary vision for community living, emphasizing accessibility, sustainability, and a sense of belonging for all residents.
