New Private Tower Under Construction at St Vincent’s Hospital
)
Construction is underway at St Vincent’s Hospital for a new private hospital tower situated behind the recently constructed ACMD building.
This $180 million redevelopment, overseen by St Vincent’s Health Australia, aims to enhance medical services by introducing new operating theatres, ICU, maternity and radiology services, oncology and neurology units, a Digestive Disease Centre, and a cardiac robotics program.
The 12-storey building represents one of the hospital’s most significant upgrades to its private facilities in many years. Kane Constructions leads the project as the main contractor, ensuring its successful delivery.
Situated in Fitzroy, the development is located within one of Melbourne’s well-established medical precincts. In close proximity to the tower stands the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery, crafted by Lyons Architecture and finalised in 2023. This centre now serves as a pivotal biomedical research hub within the precinct, further enhancing the medical landscape of the area.
