The Society of Filipino Engineers in Australia (SFEA), Inc. is an engineering professional (nationwide) association based in Australia where all members are Filipino Engineers who, at the time they applied for membership, are currently residing in Australia.
SFEA was formed in Melbourne during the last quarter of 2023 by professional Filipino engineers in Australia, with the support of the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Melbourne. The idea of forming a Filipino professional Engineers Association in Australia, with the main aim to help pave way for the Mutual Recognition Agreement between Engineers in Australia and the Philippines, was suggested by Consul General Hon. Ma. Lourdes Salcedo to Alfie Tilan. This meeting between ConGen Salcedo and Alfie Tilan happened on the20th of October 2023,during Alfie’s first courtesy visit to PCG as one of the officers of Pinoy Casey Community Inc. (PCCi), a Filipino organization based in Melbourne’s Southeastern suburb, the City of Casey.
